The FAL, standing for Fusil Automatique Leger (French for Light Automatic Rifle), and its variants have earned the moniker "The Right Arm of the Free World." This rifle, once adopted by over 90 nations, emerged as a direct competitor to the AK-47/AKM rifles. It has made its presence felt on every continent except Antarctica, participating in major conflicts and minor skirmishes since the 1950s. From the Vietnam War and the Rhodesian Bush Wars of the Cold War era to present-day Middle Eastern insurgencies in Syria and Iraq, the FAL has proved its global significance.

Following the success of the original VFC FAL (LAR) Standard Type I GBB, the deluxe version, VFC FAL (LAR) Standard Type III, offers a true replica of "The Right Arm of the Free World." Notably, this is the first-ever full steel gas blowback FAL-style rifle. Fully licensed by Cybergun and Fabrique Nationale Herstal (FN), the rifle features all the correct markings, including the Belgium designation on the side. In addition to its full steel construction, this deluxe version of the VFC FAL comes with a wooden case, adding to its period-correct appearance.

The VFC FAL replicates the metric version of the FAL, characterized by the use of meters as the measurement in the sighting system. This differs from the inch pattern L1A1 adopted by Britain and the Commonwealth. As the airsoft replica is based on the Belgium model, it faithfully represents the markings and design of the original rifle. The VFC FAL impresses with its realistic and robust build, crafted from full steel with the exception of the magazine and furniture components.The hop-up adjustment of the VFC FAL is conveniently located at the mock gas block, mimicking the process of adjusting gas pressure in an actual FAL. This attention to detail adds to the authenticity of the airsoft rifle.
