About Real Revolver
The Colt Single Action Army, known by various names such as SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, or M1873, is a single-action revolver handgun. It was initially designed by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company (now Colt's Manufacturing Company) for the U.S. government service revolver trials in 1872. Eventually, it became the standard-issued pistol for the U.S. Army from 1873 to 1892.
Throughout its history, the Colt SAA has been produced in more than 30 different calibers and offered in various barrel lengths. Despite the passage of time, its overall appearance has remained consistent since 1873. Although Colt discontinued its production on two occasions, it was brought back due to popular demand. The revolver earned the nickname "Peacemaker" and has become an iconic symbol of Americana and the American Wild West era. It gained popularity among ranchers, lawmen, and outlaws alike. Today, it is primarily sought after by collectors and re-enactors as a piece of historical memorabilia. Its design has also influenced the creation of numerous other revolver models by different manufacturers.
The original barrel length of the Colt SAA, issued to the U.S. Cavalry, was 7+1?2 inches (19 cm), resulting in an overall length of 13 inches (33 cm). This length was chosen to meet the operational requirements of the cavalry during that era.

About Tanaka Revolver

Tanaka Works has provided us with an extraordinary opportunity to experience the pinnacle of the legendary gun in physical form. Renowned for their exceptional model cap guns and incredibly realistic airsoft revolvers, Tanaka Works has truly outdone themselves with their latest offering, the "PEGASUS II" 2nd Generation Colt SAA gas airsoft revolver.
The Pegasus II system represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the Pegasus I. It boasts an adjustable hop-up and a full-length cylinder base pin, enhancing both realism and structural integrity. What sets the Pegasus system apart is its unique design. Unlike traditional airsoft revolvers that utilize shells, the Pegasus system holds BBs in the cylinder, akin to a magazine, with gas charged at the back of the cylinder. This means that while the barrel, cylinder, and frame are specifically designed for airsoft, certain internal parts, such as the hammer assembly, trigger assembly, cylinder stop, and grips, can be compatible with their real steel counterparts. However, it's important to note that Tanaka Works has implemented safety measures to prevent unauthorized modifications. The dimensions of the cylinder, barrel, and frame differ significantly from those of real firearms.
The Pegasus II Airsoft Colt Single Action Army feels remarkable in hand and surprisingly weighty. It features metal internal parts, a metal cylinder shell, and a zinc powder-reinforced ABS plastic body. The action is incredibly smooth, with the signature "C.O.L.T." 4 clicks when cocking the hammer. Similar to the real steel Single Action Army, the trigger is light and crisp. To load the gun, the user must half-cock the hammer to allow the cylinder to rotate. BBs can be loaded either in the front of the cylinder or in the ejector tube, with the cylinder being rotated and the ejector rod pulled to load the Single Action Army. Gas is charged through the loading gate using a specific gas-charging nozzle attachment included in the package. The appropriate charging port is selected by rotating the cylinder. After loading the airsoft revolver, the user must decock the hammer to its neutral position before fully cocking it back to shoot, as failure to do so can lead to wear, tear, and potential damage to the cylinder's timing.
Shooting the gun is an absolute delight, with all the expected clicks and clacks when cocking an Airsoft Single Action Army revolver. Although the gun lacks blowback, the weight of the hammer slamming forward provides a unique sensation when pulling the trigger, thanks to the remarkably strong hammer spring. It's akin to shooting a semi-automatic open-bolt firearm. The resulting sound is louder than anticipated and quite satisfying. The gun is fully suitable for skirmishes and perfect for any wild-west-themed loadout, whether one desires to portray a lawman or an outlaw.
