About Real 98K
The Karabiner 98 kurz, commonly known as the Karabiner 98k or Kar98k, is a bolt-action rifle designed for the 7.92?57mm Mauser cartridge. It was officially adopted as the standard service rifle of the German Wehrmacht on June 21, 1935. The Kar98k represents one of the final developments in the renowned line of Mauser military rifles.
During World War II, the Karabiner 98k coexisted with semi-automatic and fully automatic rifles but remained the primary rifle used by the German military until the war's end in 1945. At the conclusion of the war, large numbers of Kar98k rifles were captured by the Soviets and subsequently distributed as military aid. As a result, the Karabiner 98k has continued to be encountered in conflicts around the world as these rifles are retrieved from storage during times of turmoil.
