Out of the box:
Well packaged in a plain cardboard box, the stock rifle is awesome right away, and easily used with the iron sights set to a 40m position.
A little work is needed to make this gun topnotch:
1. The gun needs to be taken apart and taped in a couple of strategic locations. A little electrical tape for shimming and a tightening of the Grub screws will take all the wobble out of the barrel and make this a nice, stable sniping platform.
2. Depending on your field, the spring probably needs to be downgraded to get to the 400 fps zone. It's pretty hot stock. This is super easy, as it takes a normal AEG spring. Three minutes and you're done.
3. Hopup rubber should be upgraded.

Two 40rd mags come with the gun from e-hobby, which is a bonus. 4 mags will see you through most games. A side mount for scope rails is included, so scope that baby up!
The SVD shoots very accurately, and the straight pull bolt is quick, if difficult to pull with the stock spring. You'll need gloves in both hands or you'll quickly get blisters.
The SVD is very quiet to operate, which is great for not giving away your position. It is also very light, and easy to keep in the high ready position for extended aiming. A bipod would be a welcome addition.
Finally, this is a very long rifle. Due to it's low weight, it is easy to manouver, but some thought is needed when fighting in thick brush or tight environments. Also be careful when loading mags, as you can snag the front of the mag on the feed tube instead of the magwell and cause damage.

All in all, a fantastic rifle for the price, and easily upgradeable. Go nuts with this beast. It's best for the intermediate to advanced sniper, as it's lower ROF (bolt action) means choosing your battles carefully.

The box:

A simple yet quite sturdy box made from carton and styrofoam. Holds the weapon sturdily in place and works as a nice storagebox. Other than that it is simply a box.

The Weapon:

The stock is well made and has a nice hefty feel to it, being sturdy and offering good grip.
The gun itself is made from metal. The barrel, reciever and all the mechanic (as in triggerhousing, sears, hopupchamber, charging handle and cylinder) are made from cnc:d and cast metal, being of surprisingly good quality. The piston and springguide are made from sturdy and very good metal, that handles the spring very well. The inner barrel is made from brass and is, after some polishing and cleaning (recommended for the whole gun), rather acurate.

The magazine:

Is made from metal and plastic, holds about 150 BBs and is of acceptable to good quality.

Performance:

Out of the box the gun shoots at around 140- 150 mps (0,2g bb), presuming that it is all well tightened (this is easy to do and well discribed all over the internet.).
The gun is quite hard to cock and the hopup is understandable, reasonably easy to set to a good position. With a well tightened rifle and good bbs with a well adjusted hopup the gun is quite acurate all up to 70+ meters.

Upgradability:

The weapon really only needs a stronger spring and a better barrel (AEG, 59cm) with a good hopuprubber and is then a very good sniper rifle. The sears and piston will easily handle a M180 spring. The gun takes regular AEG springs, making it very easy and cheap to upgrade.

All in All:

A good rifle, easily worth every penny. With some care an acceptable and respectable sniper rifle that is very upgradable and cheap in doing so. A good rifle for both beginners and advanced players, well discribed all over the internet. Not too cheap to find a good fitting scope. Very long rifle, but still acceptably easy to maneuver with some practice.

Such an awesome gun for the money! Out of the box she needs to be stripped down and all the grub screws tightened. A little electrical tape shim above the hopup unit eliminates any barrel wobble, and you'll need to lighten the spring to about a M120-M130 spring so you're not taking limbs off of your opponents. I put a Kalashnikov siderail and a Swissarms Red dot sight on and it works amazingly well. Gloves are nice as the spring is still tough to pull, and you'll get blisters inside your trigger hand where the thumb wraps around the stock from resisting the bolt (stock is a little wide here, and could use some after market milling). Shoots great, very accurate and can get a very high rate of fire for a bolt action. Mag has a bit of wobble, solved by yet more electrical tape. Locaps are great, no rattle. Gun is very light and easy to handle despite it's great length. Gun is very quiet, so great in the sniping role. Feels sturdy, but there may be some problems with durability in the long haul. So far its been bomber though.

Hey.

Just Thought i'd give you all my humble opinion on this rifle. It is very, very good. The hopup might take some adjusting before it really reaches out to its true potential, but the gun is quite powerful. It was no real problem to hit a mansized target at about 65 meters. The quality of the gun is astonishing for the price and the design of the gun is very nice. It is very easy to tune and will take AEG springs and barrels. The Sears seem to be able to take quite some punishment, but are unfortunately made from Potmetal so they will eventually need to be replaced. This could be a problem because there are no aftermarket parts as far as I know. Thus I would recommend it, that before your sears are worn down too much to go to some industrial manufacturing shop or such, and let them make new pistonsears from steel. This is not entirely necessary but would perhaps be a good precaution.

I would recommend it to anyone who has played for a while and is capable to use the power wisely. Safety and shooting distance becomes very important here.
