Tokyo Marui SAIGA 12K Gas Blow Back Shotgun
The
Saiga 12 is a popular semi-automatic shotgun designed for the civilian
market. It follows the AK pattern and is chambered in 12 gauge. The
familiarity with the AK family of rifles, such as the AK47, AKM, and
AK74, has contributed to its popularity among shooters.
While originally intended for civilian use, the Saiga 12 has gained
attention in competition shooting. Its semi-automatic action and
12-gauge chambering make it a versatile choice for various shooting
sports and events.Additionally, the Saiga 12 has made appearances in video games, with
one notable example being Escape from Tarkov. Its inclusion in such
games highlights its recognition and popularity among firearm
enthusiasts and gamers alike.
Since the introduction of automatic shotguns, there has been a demand
among airsofters and collectors for airsoft versions of these firearms.
Maruzen addressed this with the M1100 Live Shell Automatic Shell
Ejecting Airsoft Shotgun, and Tokyo Marui introduced the AA12 and SGR-12
electric airsoft shotguns.
The Tokyo Marui AEG shotguns are capable of firing fully automatic,
but they lack the realism factor of recoil and action. Additionally,
some airsoft fields have banned fully automatic airsoft shotguns due to
their intimidating nature.
On the other hand, the Maruzen M1100 gas shell ejecting shotgun
offers a more realistic experience. It allows you to load and eject
shells and fires semi-automatically. However, obtaining both the shotgun
and the shells can be challenging, and once all the shells are ejected,
they need to be manually picked up, which can be seen as a chore.
About Tokyo Marui Airsoft
Tokyo
Marui has once again impressed with their latest offering, the
Saiga-12K gas airsoft shotgun. This airsoft shotgun addresses the
drawbacks of existing automatic airsoft shotguns while providing
additional features. It is a faithful replica of the real steel Saiga
12K, with "K" standing for "Korotkaya," meaning "Short" in Russian.
The Tokyo Marui Saiga-12K is a gas-powered airsoft shotgun that fires
semi-automatically. With each trigger pull, the gun fires three BBs
simultaneously, a characteristic shared with most Tokyo Marui shotgun
models. However, unlike the Tokyo Marui M870 series pump-action shotgun,
the Saiga-12K cannot be set to fire six BBs simultaneously or be fully
automatic like the AA12 or SGR-12 electric airsoft shotguns. Instead, it
offers tight and accurate groupings, allowing all three BBs to hit
within a 1-inch group at a distance of 10 meters. Furthermore, it
provides a satisfying recoil impulse even when using weaker HFC134a gas.
Externally, the Saiga-12K gas airsoft shotgun features an adjustable
front sight, an AK74M style folding stock, an AK-style dovetail rail for
adding optics, and a 23mm threaded barrel. The front sight can be
adjusted using the included tool, and an AK-style dovetail rail mount is
available separately for attaching accessories.
Regarding the magazine, the gas magazine included with the Tokyo
Marui Saiga-12K is designed to resemble the real Saiga 12 magazine that
holds 12-gauge rounds. However, the airsoft gas magazine holds 45
rounds, allowing for 15 trigger pulls before requiring a reload. The
magazine also contains a Celsius temperature thermometer, which can be
accessed by pushing the tab under the knocker valve and separating the
shells. Tokyo Marui recommends maintaining the magazine temperature at
around 25-30 degrees Celsius for optimal performance, advising against
using it above 40 degrees or below 15 degrees Celsius.
Tokyo Marui has expressed their commitment to producing more products
to support the Saiga-12K platform, so enthusiasts can look forward to
future additions.
