About Real Arisaka Type44

The Type 99 Sniper (Kyukyu-shiki tan-shoju) is a sniper rifle that was utilized by the Japanese armed forces during World War II. It belonged to the Type 99 series of firearms, specifically designed for long-range precision shooting. Employed by designated marksmen and snipers within the Imperial Japanese Army, this bolt-action rifle featured an extended barrel for improved accuracy and a telescopic sight for enhanced target acquisition. It operated using the 7.7x58mm Arisaka cartridge. Although the Type 99 series, including the sniper variant, is no longer in active military service since the war, it played a significant role in the Pacific theater, including notable battles like Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
