About Real SMG Rifle
The STEN, also known as the Sten gun, was a British submachine gun that played a significant role in World War II and the Korean War. It was chambered in 9?19mm and saw extensive use by British and Commonwealth forces during these conflicts.
The Sten gun was highly regarded for its simplicity of design and low production cost, which allowed for mass production to meet the demand for submachine guns on the battlefield. This made it a widely available weapon for both regular military units and resistance groups operating in occupied Europe. Its straightforward design made it an effective tool for insurgency and guerrilla warfare.
Functionally, the Sten gun was a select-fire, blowback-operated weapon with a side-mounted magazine. The name "Sten" was derived from the last names of its chief designers, Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold J. Turpin, along with the "En" representing the Enfield factory. During the 1940s, approximately four million Stens were produced in various versions, making it the second most produced submachine gun of World War II, surpassed only by the Soviet PPSh-41.
In the 1950s, the Sten was replaced in British service by the Sterling submachine gun, which was based on the Sten's design. The Sten's legacy continued through its impact on subsequent firearms development.

About Airsoft Gun
The Northeast STEN MK2(S) GBB Airsoft SMG is a highly accurate replica of the suppressed model, specifically the MK II (S) variant. The MK II (S) was originally developed in 1943 as an integrally suppressed version of the Sten gun. These suppressed models were created at the request of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) for use in covert operations in occupied Europe. The MK II (S) was the first suppressed variant produced in 1943. Due to their tendency to overheat, they were typically fired in short bursts or single shots. Some guns were even modified to be semi-automatic only.
In addition to its use in Europe, the MK II (S) was also utilized by clandestine units in the Southwest Pacific Area (SWPA), including the Services Reconnaissance Department and SOE's Force 136, for operations against the Imperial Japanese Army. Notably, the Sten Mk II (S) was employed by the Operation Jaywick party during their raid on Japanese-occupied Singapore Harbour. It also saw service with the Special Air Service Regiment during the Vietnam War.
The Northeast STEN MK2(S) GBB Airsoft SMG faithfully replicates the original design with its full steel construction and period-correct parkerized finish. It closely resembles the real Sten gun in terms of assembly and disassembly, with the exception of the inclusion of a hop-up unit and an inner barrel. When purchasing this airsoft gun, it arrives field-stripped, requiring the user to reassemble it before operation. Additionally, the STEN MK2(S) features a protective cloth cover over the suppressor, made with replica British army webbing, adding to its realism and authenticity as a gas-powered airsoft gun.
In the 2024 version, Northeast has made several improvements. They redesigned the firing pin base and nozzle to extend the maintenance cycle. The gun is also CO2 ready, as Northeast plans to release CO2 magazines for the STEN gun, similar to what they did with their UZI replica. The gas magazine has been redesigned to make it easier to fasten the endplate of the gas tank, facilitating maintenance tasks.
